part of james' film last night included quite a lengthy discussion between an anti-war protester, two actually, and a guy from the raf that he must have filmed while on some demo up in london... and it was clearly meant to elicit a reaction, due to the controversial subject and the prominence/length of the piece... so why then did he seem so offended when he got his reaction? why did he take it as a personal insult and immediately revert to the clichéd notion that this guy was just 'clearly up for a fight'? apparently this guy had said that the raf guy was being exploited in the film and whereas i'm not sure that's the most appropriate word, i'm still inclined to agree my main concern was that the raf guy's argument was personal rather than politically motivated and he was merely explaining his own motivation for joining the forces whist being verbally abused by two separate protesters, each with carefully rehearsed views and accusations, most of which were with governmental decisions and authorities that this guy had no power over whatsoever their argument shouldn't be with the soldiers and james' argument shouldn't be with the guy in orange st. and there should certainly be no argument between the two of us because i don't agree that it's a great idea to go start a fight with some random guy who doesn't share the same world view as you other than that, and the fact i only saw james for a whole 5 minutes out of 2 and a half hours, it was a good show and regardless of how stroppy he gets, i don't know anyone who looks as wonderful as he does playing bass guitar... | ![]() |
